Only a two-hour drive from London, Live2Leave app user Ann-Sophie takes us on a trip to the New Forest. All her recommendations can be found on the Live2Leave app.
A unique lifetime experience full of forest glades, coastal walks, ancient woodland, open moors and picturesque villages.Escape with her to a world where wild horses, ponies, cattle, donkeys and deers roam free and where time has stopped.
1: Make new friends
Whilst on the the drive to Lymington, it’s a dreamy sight to see so many wild horses! Make sure you stop on by to say hello.
2: Visit the picturesque village of Beaulieu
The New Forrest is such an interesting region of England, such a quick easy escape from the hustle and bustle of London life. So much so, I even walked past a wild donkey while visiting the village of Beaulieu! Nothing beats English country side, especially when you follow up with a hearty lunch at The Monty’s Inn, a pub that has been open since 1671!
3: Get to grips with nature
When in the countryside, it would rude not to soak up that fresh country air. Grab your bellies and go for a walk round the Hatchet Pond in Brockenhurst. With few very tourists, it’s the perfect opportunity to get lost (on purpose of course!).
4: Drink like a local
Fancy a quick pint? Head on over to the countryside pub Turfcutters Arms in East Boldre. This quintessential English pub serves up decent lunch, cosy chimney fires and great atmosphere. We’ll drink to that – cheers!
5. Have a dinner in a trendy restaurant
From farm to table, the Pig on the Forrest restaurant is a must visit. With a real London atmosphere, albeit in the country side, book a table and get ready to indulge in delicious food and wine.
